A good spot close to Camp Mondamin is Mine Gap, and don't leave without visiting Caesars Head State Park. Jones Gap State Park is worth a visit if you're at Camp Mondamin, and hey, Freeman Creek is a perfect local stream. This is such a glorious campground. At Camp Mondamin you can see McAlpine Mountain; since you're here you can play some golf at Crooked Creek Golf Club. If you don’t     have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on North Saluda River, and probably you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, McCabe Pond is just a very short distance away. You definitely have to love Camp Mondamin. Near Camp Mondamin you come across a golf course called Kenmure Country Club, and Green River is a good whitewater spot nearby. You'll meet a lot of people from Tuxedo here, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Green River. A large amount of rainfall falls at Camp Mondamin; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and April on the other hand is the driest. Highland Lake Golf Club is a golf course near Camp Mondamin. This campground is so glorious. A spree to Blue Ridge Parkway is recommended, and there is a glorious hiking trail nearby called the Mullinax Trail. For   the period of the summer here at Camp Mondamin, high temperatures ordinarily reach the 80's; the night is a bit chillier of course, typically in the 50's. All through the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Camp Mondamin fall into the 20's.
