The great local attractions and so much stuff to do are certain to keep you coming back over and over. US Forestry Department is a campground quite often visited by the folks in Eatonton. The positive atmosphere and the great quantity of amusing things to do are a great pull for a lot of people.
Lots of folks stay here to be close to Oconee National Forest. There's such an incredible array of things to do right next door to US Forestry Department, and what a good place for camping it is.

    fishing, playing golf, hiking, and whitewater paddling, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen. It's been too long since you went outside, and US Forestry Department in Georgia is a good place to go. On close by
 Little River you discover a class I-II sweep of whitewater; the Glenwood Springs Road to Lake Sinclair portion is 3 miles long. The Glenwood Springs Road to Lake Sinclair portion of Little River is proposed for beginner whitewater paddlers. If you are going kayak paddling, you must always check current conditions. Go for a hike on the Scull Shoals Trail, and during your tour here you'll meet some people from Eatonton for sure. If you have a boat, Sugar Creek Marina is a good marina, and Walker Lake Dam is a location that is in the vicinity of US Forestry Department. This campground is a delightful spot to go to. The gorgeous marina of Port Armor Marina is a splendid location to leave  
dry land behind. A round of golf at nearby Port Armor Country Club is a glorious way to kill some time. There are tremendous spots to look at along the Twin Bridges Trail, and sites like Hard Labor Creek State Park are fine to explore.
