Don't leave Buck's Rock Camp without first going for a hike along the Mattatuck Trail, and Squantz Pond State Park is worth taking a look at. Go for a hike on the Appalachian National Scenic Trail, and Lake Waramaug State Park is a wonderful place to go. Indian Field is a pretty place any time of year; at Buck's Rock Camp you can see Mount Tom. This is such a delightful campground. |
Ladner Pond Dam is an exciting thing to check out, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on East Aspetuck River. Very striking scenery and nice skiing is what you get at Woodbury, and get wet paddling on Tenmile. For you golfers we recommend close by Candlewood Valley Country
| Club, and one of the best things about this place is its proximity to Pine Ledge. If you want a wonderful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Buck's Rock Camp. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Housatonic River; if you've had enough of Buck's Rock Camp, Ladner Pond is close by. Buck's Rock Camp gets a normal amount of annual rain; during the month of June you get the most rain around here, and the driest of the months is January. During the warmest time of the year at Buck's Rock Camp temperatures are frequently in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Buck's Rock Camp.
