Looking for a wonderful visit? Greenbelt Park is quite right next door to Camp Sonshine, and pleasant hiking is available along the Upland Trail. the soul; there are great sites to discover along the Valley Trail. Through the warm days of summer, highs typically are in the 80's at Camp Sonshine, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are typically in the 40's while the cold winter nights

Camp Sonshine gets a large amount of water; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff near Camp Sonshine. Go for a hike on the Rock Creek Park Bike Trail; get drenched paddling on Patuxent River.
Patapsco Valley State Park is a great location to go if you're at Camp Sonshine, and at Camp Sonshine you always meet someone from Ashton. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Looking for some flowing water? | |

Try Nursery Run, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always take a look at close by Triadelphia Reservoir. There is a magnificent hiking trail close to Camp Sonshine called the White Horse Trail; Northwest Park Golf Course is a good golf course close by.
Get yourself into a kayak and hit Little Patuxent River, and Glen Echo Park is a very wonderful place to visit. This is such a wonderful campground. Paddling on Anacostia River - Northwest Branch is so much fun; playing golf is lots of fun at Cross Creek Golf Club.
