Nursery Run is a gorgeous stream that is worth taking a look at, and a great spot like Patapsco Valley State Park is too brilliant to leave out. Greenbelt Park is a tremendous national park, and close by you stumble on the Rock Creek Park Bike Trail which is a great hiking trail. Life's too short to enjoy all the enjoyable stuff close to Camp Sonshine. Golf can be played at Northwest |
Park Golf Course, and glide down the rapids of Little Patuxent River in a kayak.
During the summertime at Camp Sonshine temperatures are mostly in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 60's. During the wintertime the highs are regularly in
| the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Camp Sonshine. What a place this is for outdoors people. Going for a hike on the Upland Trail is always a splendid adventure, and if the weather is brilliant, you can go for a hike along the White Horse Trail. An afternoon playing golf at Cross Creek Golf Club is always a diversion, and get dripping wet paddling on Patuxent River.

is so gorgeous. You'll meet a lot of folks from Ashton here, and paddling on Anacostia River - Northwest Branch is so much fun. On a fine day at Camp Sonshine you can take a hike along the Western Ridge Trail, and the sights at Glen Echo Park will blow your mind.
Coming to
this campground is always a glorious idea. For you golfers we recommend close by Gunpowder Golf Course; there is a nice hiking trail nearby called the Valley Trail. A good deal of rain falls at Camp Sonshine; the wettest month of the year is mostly May, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is January.
