Camp Bernie-YMCA, New Jersey Custom Search   YMCA Camp Bernie, which helps people to ''Do More, Be More'', is located on a beautiful hilltop in Port Murray, New Jersey. We have been in operation as a YMCA Camp since 1956, and are proud to offer year-round programming to over 15,000 people each year. Camp Bernie is able to provide a traditional co-ed Overnight Camp Experience during the summer. Our sessions last for 13 days, and serve children from grades 2 through 10. In addition, we provide 9 weeks of Adventure Day Camp for the local communities, each session lasting from Monday through     Friday. We also offer year round programming consisting of Outdoor Education for school groups, and Group and Family Camping as well. We are avilable for scout troops, college clubs, church retreats and much more. Our camp is able to provide cabin and meeting space for groups of many sizes and interests; and there are always more rustic accomodations available for those that are interested. Our programs are led by well-trained camping professionals, and can be catered to fit the needs of our visitors. We offer everything from sports to adventure and arts to nature, with the character and mission driven methods of the YMCA. Whitewater paddling is good on Raritan River - South Branch, and if you haven’t been to Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, you should schedule some time for it while you're here. Loads of fun is at this campground. All our national parks are good places to explore, and Delaware National Scenic River is no exception, and one of the overriding marks of the surroundings of Camp Bernie-YMCA is Point Mountain. Summertime highs at Camp Bernie-YMCA commonly tend to be in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Camp Bernie-YMCA. Paddling on Rockaway Creek is so much fun; there are plenty of people from Port Murray here. Camp Bernie-YMCA typically gets a great deal of rainfall; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is February. Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area is worth visiting if you're at Camp Bernie-YMCA; Camp Beisler Dam is not far at all from Camp Bernie-YMCA. Camp Bernie-YMCA beyond doubt is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise.
