If you're feeling down from spending too much time indoors, Don't be troubled; Mattole Camp & Retreat Center in California is a magnificent location to go. All the good local attractions close at hand and such a good variety of outdoors recreation will make you happy you came. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. On a splendid day at Mattole Camp & Retreat Center you can take a hike along the King Crest Trail, and there is a nice hiking trail nearby called
 
the Lightning Trail.
Coming to this campground is always a fine idea. Get dripping wet paddling on Eel River, and there are plenty of people from Petrolia here. Throughout the warm months here at Mattole Camp & Retreat Center, high temperatures regularly get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 50's, and overnight lows during the winter for Mattole Camp & Retreat Center tend to be in the 30's. The high level of rain makes Mattole Camp & Retreat Center a quite wet spot; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month.
Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by close by Lake Ridge, and Humboldt Redwoods State Park is a nice spot to go.
