The Moores Run Fire Trail is a good hiking trail close to Austin Campground, and Left Branch Big Nelson Run is one of the streams close by that might be worth stopping at. This campground is always a joy. Paddling on Young Womans Creek is so much fun; there is a pleasant hiking trail close by called the Arts Trail. For the period of the days of summer at Austin Campground temperatures are typically in the 70's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 50's. All through the winter the highs are commonly in the 20's,   and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Austin Campground temperatures drop to the 10's. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Ski Denton, and nearby you find the Upper Doctor Green Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail. Mosquito Creek has a tremendous whitewater paddling spot close by, and Sizerville State Park is a fine location to check out on a delightful day. A normal amount of precipitation falls here at Austin Campground; most of the rain falls all through June, and January is the month with the least moisture. People from Austin love to come to Austin Campground, and if the weather is great, you can go for a hike along the Aspen Trail. Nearby Butternut Hollow is a wonderful site to go if you're at Austin Campground; on a great day you can take a hike along the White Birch Trail. This is such a fun place for a campground. If you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Cross Fork, and stopping by Sinnemahoning State Park is a glorious thing to do.
