This campground has so incredibly much. Old Fort Golf Course is a golf course in the neighborhood of Sky Island Retreat and Campground, and on a great day you can take a hike along the Bald Mountain Trail. That right there is loads already, but it goes on; Sky Island Retreat and Campground has it all. If you're here, you might as well stop at Padgett Cove; get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Catawba River. But wait, there's more fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you're here at Sky Island Retreat and Campground you   will meet lots of folks from close by Old Fort; a great location for whitewater paddling is Rocky Broad River. For the period of the summer months highs here at Sky Island Retreat and Campground reach the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. All through the wintertime the highs are frequently in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Sky Island Retreat and Campground temperatures fall to the 10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. A large amount of precipitation falls at Sky Island Retreat and Campground; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain, and December is the month with the least moisture.
