Island Lake Campground, Absaroka Range, Wyoming Custom Search   Island Lake Campground is a primitive camp ground which of course means that there are not many facilities. The natural prettiness at this primitive campground is magnificent; getting to this primitive campground could be a little tough, but it's well worth it. It can be said that this stretch of Clarks Fork Yellowstone River is a site for skilled kayak paddling. Whitewater rafting and       kayaking can get hazardous, so check conditions ahead of going. Buffalo Bill State Park is a splendid location to stretch your legs a bit; skiing at Red Lodge Mountain is one of those things you just have to do. Life's too short to   enjoy all the fun stuff in the Absaroka Range. Going for a hike on the Clay Butte Trail is always a delightful adventure, and Black Canyon Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. A campground like this is too tremendous to miss. While you're here at Island Lake Campground you can take a hike along the Beauty Lake Trail.
