Unsurprisingly, whitewater boating is enjoyable but perilous; check the situation before heading out. A quick tour to Swallow Rock Run right next door to Swallow Rock Campground is a good idea, and Monongahela National Forest is a perfect site to stretch your
 
legs a bit. Have a glorious hiking adventure along the Bear Hunter Trail, and the fine people of Whitmer like to hang out close by.
