This is such a charming campground. Good hiking is available along the Loop Trail; at Smoke Hole Campground you always meet someone from Upper Tract. Just can't get enough of Smoke Hole Campground. Everybody loves Lost River State Park.
Much rainfall falls at Smoke Hole Campground;
    the wettest month of the year is typically July, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest of the months is October. Anxious to pitch that tent; Smoke Hole Campground in West Virginia is such a great site.
Some of the things you can do here at Smoke Hole Campground
are hiking, whitewater paddling, fishing, and swimming, so there's absolutely no way to get bored. This is such a glorious campground. Go for a hike on the Redman Trail, and the skiing at Timberline is delightful. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Potomac River - South Branch, and not far from Smoke Hole Campground you'll come across Spruce Island Lake which is a striking lake.
But wait, there's more to do close to Smoke Hole Campground. Drift down the rapids of Potomac River - South Branch in a kayak, and Blackwater Falls State Park is a tremendous
 
place.
The good local attractions and all the outdoors recreation will make you happy you came. Summer brings highs in the 70's to Smoke Hole Campground, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Smoke Hole Campground. So much cool stuff in the vicinity of Smoke Hole Campground, and when you have had the opportunity to enjoy this campground you will feel completely regenerated.
There's brilliant hiking along the North Mountain Trail, and if you wish for a little side journey, try Dry Hollow. Get wet paddling on Potomac River - North Fork of South Branch; a cool spot to explore is Eagle Rock. Going for a hike on the South Branch Trail is always a delightful adventure, and getting to Long Run from Smoke Hole Campground is simple.
