Island Campground, West Virginia   A visit to West Virginia is not complete without some camping. We all ought to go camping every now and then, and Island Campground in West Virginia is such a perfect spot. Monongahela National Forest is a wonderful site to take a look at, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Greenbrier River - East Fork. Island Campground is often visited by people from Bartow. Now, you may believe that's plenty but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Island Campground. Among the things you     can do in close proximity to Island Campground are hiking, whitewater paddling, fishing, and swimming, so running out of fun things to do won’t happen. Don't stop me now, cause I'm havin' a magnificent time here at Island Campground. Going for a hike on the Burner Mountain Trail is always a tremendous adventure, and a journey to Seneca State Forest invigorates the soul. Loads of people stay at this campground so they can go to Monongahela National Forest. There is a glorious hiking trail near Island Campground called the East Fork Trail; since you're here you will meet lots of people from close by Bartow. Good hiking is available along the Locust Spring Run Trail, and Little River has a wonderful whitewater paddling spot close by. Island Campground gets a good deal of water; the wettest month of the year is ordinarily July,   that's the one that rains the most, and February on the other hand is the driest. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Island Campground with overnight lows in the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 10's for Island Campground. Fork Mountain is pretty and can be made out from Island Campground, and skiing at Snowshoe is one of those things you just must do. This campground is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Island Campground; Lynn Knob Trail is a pleasant local trail, and Fivemile Hollow is close by, and is a delightful location. Quite a lot of fun stuff to do near Island Campground, and if you're trying to find a perfect spot to go camping, this is a splendid pick. Poca Run flows through this region; if you get bored of Island Campground you could also go to nearby Buffalo Lake. A campground like this is too wonderful to miss. Go for a hike on the Hinkle Run Trail; whitewater paddling is nice on Greenbrier River - East Fork. The nice variety of local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are sure to keep you coming back repeatedly.
