Wynoochee Falls Campground, Olympic Mountains, Washington

Wynoochee Falls campground has been closed and the campground sign, firepits, restroom and tables removed. You?ll have to drive about 15 miles of gravel road to get here. There is a rock pedestal with a missing sign along the Wynoochee road 4 miles NE of the lake near the end of the road. This marks the parking area and access trail down to the falls. The ? mile trail is interrupted with large ditches to discourage access and camping. The waterfall is only about 100 feet high, (maybe less) but very picturesque, with a large clear basin at its base
and an outlet scoured through granite rocks. Says Arne

Why not take a look at close by Schofield Creek if you're here at Wynoochee Falls Campground, and there's wonderful hiking along the Elwha River Trail. Now, you may imagine that's a lot but there's even more amusing
things to do here in the Olympic Mountains. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Satsop River - Middle Fork, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Hurricane Ridge Ski Lodge. The surroundings of this campground have such an incredible array of things to offer. Schafer State Park is a delightful place to pop by on a delightful day. If you come at the right time of year, Satsop River - West Fork offers some perfect whitewater; obviously, this is a wonderful vicinity for people who like lakes,
Klone Lakes is a lake in close proximity.
You clearly ought to love Wynoochee Falls Campground. Don't leave Wynoochee Falls Campground without first going for a hike along the Skyline Trail; glide down the rapids of Quinault River in a kayak. Wynoochee Falls Campground gets lots of water; December is the month that gets the most rain; July on the other hand is the driest. This is really a tremendous campground. Wynoochee Falls Campground is not far at all from Aberdeen, and if the weather is lovely, you acquire a magnificent view of Mount Church from Wynoochee Falls Campground.
Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Olympic Mountains rules! A journey to Olympic National Forest when you're here at Wynoochee Falls Campground is never a bad idea; stopping by Olympic National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. For the period of the summer months here at Wynoochee Falls Campground, high temperatures usually get into the 70's; the nighttime is somewhat cooler of course, regularly in the 40's. High temperatures through the winter are normally in the 40's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Wynoochee Falls Campground temperatures sink to the 30's.
