The 38 feet of wonderful snow that fall per winter at the close by ski mountain Stevens Pass is great. Stevens Pass has 10 different ski   lifts, a splendid 1,800-foot elevation difference, and 37 trails. The East Fork to NE Old Cascade Highway sector, a whitewater segment on Miller River is 4.8 miles from start to finish. This close by segment of whitewater is a grade IV.
