| of folks from Hood River here. Through the summertime months highs here at South Campground get into the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are commonly in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to South Campground. There are so many entertaining things to do right next door to South Campground, and many people like to come here to escape. Lakes are tremendous; Little Mosquito Lake is a lake that's near South Campground, and the vista of Twin Buttes is scenic. | |

These mountains rock, just explore all the fun stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Starvation Creek State Park is worth a visit if you're at South Campground; soar down the rapids of Lewis River - North Fork in a kayak. Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the entertaining
stuff you can do is whitewater paddling, hiking, fishing, and swimming, so possibly you want to stay for a while. Have a delightful hiking adventure along the Cougar Way, and if you come at the right time of year, Quartz Creek offers some nice whitewater. South Campground
is a rather wet place frequently with a lot of rain; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. This is beyond doubt a delightful campground. Everybody loves Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and whitewater paddling
is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Lewis River - North Fork. A lot of people camp here so they can go to Gifford Pinchot National Forest.
