Napeequa Crossing Campground, Northern Cascade Range, Washington
|
| | Well, most of the information in this little blurb is wrong: The nearest Metro area is not Ellensburg, it is Leavenworth. Lake Elsley? I have never heard of it, and have been in the area for 30 years. There is no such place called Indian Ponds anywhere around the campground. Though a beautiful hike, Napeequa Crossing to Twin Lakes is not an easy stroll, it is approximately 3.2+ miles one way, with many switchbacks, and to the average city person, a hard slog. This Article makes it sound like White river falls are on the way to Twin Lakes, which they are not. |
|
They are reached by driving on up the valley 5 more miles or so to the correct turnout. Also, it should be mentioned that from the beginning of camping season till Mid August, you should slather yourself in Bug repellant to keep from being eaten alive by Mosquitoes. The campground
| is located on the confluence of the White and Napeequa Rivers, which flow into Lake Wenatchee. Says Rich Windsor
Napeequa Crossing Campground is right by the Miners Creek Trail, and a tour to Wenatchee National Forest is a wonderful idea. Having a wonderful time in the Northern Cascade Range is painless. There's whitewater on Little Wenatchee River for all you thrill seekers, and skiing at Stephens Pass is one of those things you just should do. At Napeequa Crossing Campground throughout the summer months highs are in the 60's. Summer overnight | |

lows fall down to the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are commonly in the 20's, and after the sun is down all through the winter temperatures at Napeequa Crossing Campground plunge into the 10's. This campground is so stunning. If the weather is great here at Napeequa Crossing
Campground, you can go for a hike along the Duncan Hill Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Nason River. Looking for some flowing water? Try Napeequa River, and hiking along the Icicle Trail is nice fun. But wait, there's more
amusing things to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Going for a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 26 will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. Napeequa Crossing Campground is a relatively wet place typically with much precipitation; of all the months in a
year January is the one with the most snow, and July on the other hand is the driest. Life's too short to enjoy all the entertaining things in close proximity to Napeequa Crossing Campground. Get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Lake Creek, and a spree to Lake Wenatchee State Park when you're here is never a bad idea.
