There's good hiking along the Goose Prairie Trail; when you're here it's always fun to stop by Lake Easton State Park. This is such a picturesque campground. Really great skiing awaits you at Crystal Mountain; some of the water nearby flows, like Goat Creek. With such a large number of things to do in Washington you'll never get bored. Near Cougar Flat Campground you locate the Nile Ridge Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail; you can run the rapids of American River. But wait, there's more to do next to Cougar Flat Campground. There are delightful spots to look at along the Fifes Ridge Trail; a tremendous
site for whitewater paddling is American River. The great pick of local attractions, and such a great variety of outdoors recreation will definitely have you coming back time and again. All through the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 70's at Cougar Flat Campground.
For the period of the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Cougar Flat Campground dipping down into the 20's through winter nights.
