Coho Campground, Olympic Mountains, Washington

Nice. Good car-camping family place. (…) Says Derek

As of August 2008, Wynoochee Valley Road (NFD 22) is closed for 13 miles starting at the intersection with Cougar-Smith north to Camp Grisdale every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. We got stuck at the intersection for 3? hours on Thursday, August 7, as the road didn't open until 6:30 p.m. Rumor is that the paving work and road closures will continue for the next two years. Says Travis

WHEN YOU TAKE THE HIKE AROUND THE LAKE BE SURE YOU TAKE WATER AND FOOD. IT'S A BEAUTIFUL, BUT 12 MILES
AND 6 HRS. TO COMPLETE. ENJOY !!! Says KEVIN CALLAHAN

A day on the slopes of Hurricane Ridge Ski Lodge is just what you need; there are some tremendous whitewater spots on Wynoochee River. So much amusing stuff close to Coho Campground, absolutely phenomenal. Scatter Creek
is one of the streams nearby that might be worth going to, and a tour to Olympic National Forest when you're here is never a bad idea. High temperatures at Coho Campground through the warm days of summer are in the 70's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Coho Campground descend into the 30's. Olympic National Park is a magnificent site near Coho Campground, and the scenery at Wynoochee Dam is delightful.
If you come to this campground,

you will have a nice time for sure. You certainly should visit Schafer State Park since you're here at Coho Campground, and if you come at the right time of year, Big Creek offers some glorious whitewater. If you want a great time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Olympic Mountains. Lakes? Sure, Wynoochee Lake is in the neighborhood, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Quinault here. Yep, outdoors entertaining stuff truly is plentiful here in the Olympic Mountains. If the weather is great here at Coho Campground, you can go for a hike along the Skyline Trail, and there's whitewater on Satsop River - West Fork for all you adrenaline junkies.
This campground has so incredibly much. Coho Campground is a wet spot that gets a good deal of rain; most of the rain falls throughout December; July meanwhile is the driest month.
