The difference in elevation is 1,469 feet for a scenic 2.3-mile-long hiking trail close at hand; we are unsurprisingly talking about the Marias Creek Trail. If you wish for a difficult backcountry hike, Marias Creek Trail takes more or less three hours to backcountry hike. With its 679 foot altitude difference it's a scenic backpacking trail; the Beaver Ridge Trail is 2.6 miles of glorious backpacking. There's no more enjoyable way to use two and a half hours than to trek the scenic Beaver Ridge Trail.
