You can experience the great outdoors at its greatest at primtive campgrounds like Ballard Campground. Getting to this primitive campground may be somewhat difficult, but it's well worth it. Amenities and facilities are few in primitive campgrounds such as Ballard Campground. Natural prettiness surrounds this primitive campground, and naturally there are restrooms here. Ballard Campground is situated in the Northern Cascade Range.

There's a wonderful 54-mile-from-beginning-to-end grade II(III) whitewater part on Methow River close by, the River Bend Campground to Carlton segment. Whitewater paddlers on this part of Methow River should possess a little know-how in whitewater kayaking or rafting. Don't go whitewater kayaking or rafting in advance of first checking the latest conditions; it's dangerous matter. There's a good 9.4-mile-from-beginning-to-end backcountry trail boasting a good 3,442-foot difference between top and bottom in the neighborhood; this wonderful backcountry trail is the Driveway Butte Trail. A hard backcountry trail it is;
 
Driveway Butte Trail necessitates roughly speaking one and a half days to walk. The 29.8-mile-from-beginning-to-end Monument Creek Trail has an altitude difference of 4,673 feet; it is a scenic hiking trail.
