Chargo Campground, Green Mountains, Vermont   This camp ground is one of the wonderful sites to camp here in the Green Mountains. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Chargo Campground. Summer night lows drop down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Chargo Campground. Several folks camp here to stop at nearby Balm of Gilead Beach. The fine variety of local attractions and the fine variety of outdoors recreation will make you glad you came. There's a lot of outdoors recreation available close by such as fishing, swimming, playing golf, whitewater     paddling, and hiking, so it's just not possible to get bored. This is such a stunning campground. Go for a hike on the Mount Pisgah Trail; you're sure to stumble upon some cheerful folks from Derby here. This campground is always a joy. Really good skiing awaits you at Burke Mountain, and the peak of Bates Hill can be seen from Chargo Campground. Chargo Campground is a popular spot with the folks of Derby. From a rainfall point of view Chargo Campground is a relatively typical spot; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month is February. There's such a large number of things to do next to Chargo Campground, and you always have a great time when you're here. So many entertaining things near Chargo Campground, truly mind-boggling. Going for a hike on the Mount Pisgah East Trail is always a splendid   adventure, and naturally, this is a great neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Little Salem Pond is a lake in the vicinity. Don't leave Chargo Campground without first going for a hike along the Herbert Hawkes Hiking Trail, and Crystal Lake State Park is a great location. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors fun stuff the Green Mountains has to offer. Good hiking is available along the South Shore Hiking Trail; get wet paddling on Barton River. There is a perfect hiking trail near Chargo Campground called the Pisgah Trail, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Newport Country Club. In Vermont you never run out of outdoors cool things.
