This is no location for people who don’t like to enjoy themselves. Cedar Creek is in close proximity to Smith Tract Campground and is always a diversion to stop at, and the Belfast Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. Smith Tract Campground is a wet place that gets a large amount of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest of the months is January.
If the weather is great here at Smith Tract Campground, you can go for a hike along the Hunting Creek Trail, and Jennings Creek is a fine whitewater spot nearby. If you come to this campground, you will have a tremendous time for sure. Do take a look at Cave Mountain Dam if you're here at Smith Tract Campground, and you can run the rapids of North Creek. Smith Tract Campground is a popular spot with the folks in Natural Bridge Station.
If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Douthat State Park is a perfect site to stop by; the sights at Booker T Washington National Monument will blow your mind.
