The warmest time of the year at Lewis Mountain Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 60's. High temperatures throughout the winter are normally in the 40's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for Lewis Mountain Campground.
At Lewis Mountain Campground entertaining stuff to do is bountiful, and if you're trying to find a fine place to go for a weekend of camping, this is a great choice. There's lots of outdoors recreation available close at hand such as fishing, swimming, whitewater paddling, and hiking, so possibly you want to stay a bit. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Shenandoah River - South Fork is a tremendous whitewater spot near Lewis Mountain Campground; going for a hike on the Lewis Mountain Trail is always a pleasant adventure.
