This campground is so great. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Potts Creek, and the Fenwick Nature Trail is a glorious hiking trail close by. If you have a thing about the outdoors you'll have a thing about
 
it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are nice places to look at along the North Mountain Trail; there are plenty of people from New Castle here at Fenwick Mines Campground.
There's a load of outdoors recreation available in close proximity such as whitewater paddling, and hiking, so most likely you want to stay for a while. If you come at the right time of year, Johns Creek offers some delightful whitewater, and don't forget to take a pleasant little visit to Mill Creek. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Moncove Lake State Park is a delightful spot to go if you're at Fenwick Mines Campground; there is a tremendous hiking trail close by called the Cove Trail.
Virginia is a good outdoors state. The great local attractions and such a great variety of outdoors recreation will make you pleased you came. The warmest time of the year at Fenwick Mines Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. During the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Fenwick Mines Campground temperatures fall to the 20's.
