Near Piute Campground you come across Porcupine Draw which is a nice place to take a look at, and why not go to close by Sevenmile Creek while you're here at Piute Campground. Take a hike on the Oak Belt Trail; Johnson Valley Dam is an exciting thing to check out. There is so much fun stuff to do next to Piute Campground; what a tremendous site for camping it is. And that's not all you can do here at Piute Campground. The Meadow Gulch Salt Gulch Trail offers hiking   at its best, and get dripping wet paddling on Fremont River. High temperatures at Piute Campground during the warm days of summer are in the 90's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the wintertime highs are commonly in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for Piute Campground tend to be in the 10's. Hiking along the Stair Trail is glorious fun; there's pleasant hiking along the Great Western Trail.
