Obviously it could be hard to get to a primitive campground like McDowell Campground, but it's worth the effort. The natural beauty at this primitive campground is good; at McDowell Campground you could get a finer wilderness experience than you would get at a more civilized campground. It's just not possible to get bored in Texas if you like the outdoors.
Outdoors recreation is abundant, some of the entertaining stuff you can do is swimming, fishing, and playing golf, so getting bored is not something that is likely to happen.

If you get bored of McDowell Campground, you could also take a look at nearby Greenbelt Reservoir. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Clarendon Country Club is in close proximity; at McDowell Campground you always meet someone from Pampa. Why not spend some time golfing at a close by golf course like Pampa Country Club. McDowell Campground is ordinarily a rather waterless place. June is the wettest month with most rain, and January on the other hand is the driest. Through the long  
summer days here at McDowell Campground, high temperatures usually get into the 90's. When the night sets in temperatures fall down into the 60's.
