Doublecamp Campground, Great Smoky Mountains, Tennessee

Doublecamp is no longer maintained by the forestry service (no trash pick up or outhouse maintenance), and some people set up housekeeping there for months (from the look of it). It is too bad, the flood ended the great camping we knew there. I would not camp there with children. Go to Jake Best. Says Tracy

Once you arrive at this primitive campground you will realize it was well worth the effort getting here. If by chance natural splendor is what you fancy, this primitive campground is what you have a need for. Primitive campgrounds like these are a wonderful way to get out in the wilderness, and amenities and facilities are few in primitive campgrounds like this one. Doublecamp
