A magnificent location like Lake Hartwell State Park right next door to Church Campground is too delightful to leave out, and do take a hike on the Chattooga Trail. This campground is always a pleasure. White Fork is a good local stream, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Scaly Mountain. At Church Campground through the warm months highs are in the 80's, and throughout     summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Church Campground descend into the 20's. Church Campground is a wet place that gets a great deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain while October is the month with the least amount of precipitation. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Church Campground. Church Campground is a place with many visitors from Walhalla, and going for a hike along the Burrells Ford Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area. You can run the rapids of Chauga River in the neighborhood of Church Campground, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Winding Stairs Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for   everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Chauga River; not far from Church Campground you'll locate Coneross Creek Reservoir which is a lovely lake. A trip to Church Campground wouldn’t be complete without a visit to close by Oconee State Park; if the weather is good, you can go for a hike along the Three Forks Trail. This is such a beautiful campground. On a wonderful day at Church Campground you can take a hike along the Bartram Trail; get your heart beating on the fine whitewater of Cedar Creek.
