White River Park Campground, Central Cascade Range, Oregon   Last fall I heard that White River Crossing campground was closed because of lack of funding. Is this true? Says Bob Bushnell There's a lot of outdoors recreation available in the vicinity such as hiking, swimming, whitewater paddling, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do. Ok, the time is here for a camping trip, wouldn't you agree? White River Park Campground in Oregon is just the place. There are other sites here than White River Park Campground, for example Frog Lake; there are some good whitewater spots on Hood River - West Fork.     This campground is so tremendous. At White River Park Campground you always meet someone from Government Camp; there are great sites to look at along the Gnarl Ridge Trail. Oregon is a great outdoors state. There's such a vast number of things to do near White River Park Campground, and it is a fun place for everyone. All the water falling down from the sky makes White River Park Campground a wet place; the wettest month of the year is typically December, that's the one that rains the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. And if you're still looking for more outdoors entertaining stuff just keep reading. It's a wonderful idea to stop at North Fork Mineral Creek, it's close to White River Park Campground, and a pleasant spree to Devils Half Acre Meadow is a good way to spend an afternoon. Loads of folks opt for   this campground to go to nearby Mount Hood National Forest. Yep, outdoors fun things truly is plentiful here in the Central Cascade Range. Don't leave White River Park Campground without stopping by Mount Hood National Forest, and there's nice hiking along the Bonney Meadows Trail. At this campground you will always have a tremendous time. Head up to Mt. Hood Meadows and strap some skis to your feet; hiking is a popular thing to do around White River Park Campground; Tilly Jane Trail is a great local trail. White River Park Campground is a great camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Central Cascade Range. Summertime highs at White River Park Campground commonly tend to be in the 70's. During the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at White River Park Campground fall into the 30's. If you're here, you might as well stop by Barlow Pass; going for a hike on the Umbrella Falls Trail is always a fine adventure. If you want a good time in the great outdoors just come on up to the Central Cascade Range. Don't leave White River Park Campground without first going for a hike along the Timberline Trail, and you are in the neighborhood of Buzzard Point since you're here. White River Park Campground is a very popular campground with the folks of Government Camp. Whohoo, so much cool stuff in one place! White River Park Campground rocks! A fine location like Starvation Creek State Park close to White River Park Campground is too great to leave out; soar down the rapids of White River in a kayak. The brilliant local attractions and all the outdoors recreation are fine incentives to come. These mountains rock, just check out all the exciting things to do in the Central Cascade Range. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hood River - Lake Branch; the panorama of Barlow Butte is beautiful.
