If you come at the right time of year, Roaring River offers some brilliant whitewater, and going for a hike on the Dry Ridge Trail is always a great adventure. in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Shining Lake Campground are in the 30's. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining
| stuff the Central Cascade Range has to offer. There are some glorious whitewater spots on Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork, and don't forget to take a good little spree to Squaw Creek. Shining Lake Campground is a very well prized campground by the folks in Welches. by you find the Old Baldy Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. Scores of fun is at this campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Clackamas River, and don't leave Shining Lake Campground without first going for a hike along
the Eagle Creek Cutoff. Ainsworth State Park is a good place to stop at, and the Roaring River Trail is a splendid hiking trail close by. As if Shining Lake Campground wasn't enough, you can also go swimming, whitewater paddling, hiking, and fishing, so there's no way to get
bored. Some folks stay at this campground when they come to check out Mount Hood National Forest. There are glorious locations to look at along the Fanton Plaza Trail, and you'll perhaps meet some folks from Welches here. This campground has so unbelievably much. Mount Hood
National Forest is a pretty site any time of year; spots like Squaw Meadow are nice to check out. So many fun things to do at Shining Lake Campground, so little time. Shining Lake Campground is a wonderful camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Central Cascade Range.
If you are in Oregon during camping season, you ought to go camping. The fine selection of local attractions, and the fine variety of outdoors recreation will positively have you coming back many times.
