Good hiking is available along the Dry Ridge Trail, and perfect skiing awaits you at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Shining Lake Campground; Eagle Creek Cutoff is a brilliant local trail, and when you're here it's always fun to take a look at Mount Hood National Forest. Go for a hike on the Old Baldy Trail, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Clackamas River - Oak Grove Fork. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the fun things at Shining Lake Campground. Going for a hike on the Roaring River Trail is always a good adventure; Grouse Point can be observed from Shining Lake Campground. This camp ground is one of the splendid places to camp here in the Central Cascade Range. There's more to do right next door to Shining Lake Campground other than just hanging out such as swimming, hiking, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t run out of things to do.
