Don't leave Hambone Springs Campground without first going for a hike along the Flag Mountain Trail, and in the event that you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Zigzag River.
This camp ground is one of the great spots to camp here in the Central Cascade
 
Range.

Hambone Springs Campground sees pretty high levels of precipitation; through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July is the month with the least moisture. Having a wonderful time in the Central Cascade Range is simple. Whitewater paddling is great on Sandy River, and you definitely have to take a look at Mount Hood National Forest while you're here.
