Elk Campground is positioned in an area with lots of enjoyable things to do, and it's one of those locations where everything is great. If you come at the right time of year, Grande Ronde River offers some pleasant whitewater, and don't leave Elk Campground without first going for a hike along the Summit Mount Emily Trail. Elk Campground is a fine camp ground to use as a base while enjoying the Blue Mountains.

The surroundings of this campground have so much stuff to offer. There are some great whitewater spots on Grande Ronde River, and lots of folks from La Grande come here. This campground is so tremendous. Red Bridge State Park is both magnificent and pretty, and it's close to Elk
| Campground, and fine hiking is available along the Hale Spring Trail.

You truly have to like the Blue Mountains. There's some flowing water nearby, Thomas Creek is a stream you can have a look at while you're here, and there are splendid sites to look at along the North Fork Trail. Lakes? Junction State Park is a pleasant spot to check out on a gorgeous day, and going for a hike on the Lick Creek Trail is always a pleasant adventure.
While visiting this vicinity in Oregon it's a great idea to go for a camping trip too. Elk Campground is regularly a quite arid
site; November is when you get the most rain here, and July is the month with the least moisture.
Summertime at Elk Campground arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs
in the 40's; after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Elk Campground drop into the 20's. These mountains rock, just look at all the enjoyable things to do in the Blue Mountains. If the weather is delightful, you obtain a splendid sight of The Shimmiehorn from
Elk Campground; the slopes of Spout Springs are so inviting nobody can resist.
There's so many things to do at Elk Campground including hiking, whitewater paddling, swimming, and fishing, so perhaps you want to stay for a while.
