The high level of rainfall makes Dam Campground a quite wet spot; December is the wettest month with most snow, and the driest
month of the year is July. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you won’t be dissatisfied; there's hiking, and whitewater paddling, so running out of fun things to do won’t happen.
There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Cooper Spur; do stop by Lost Creek if you're here at Dam Campground. If you come to this campground, you will have a brilliant time for sure. Float down the rapids of White River in a kayak, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Pine Creek Trail.

Cascade Range. One of the overriding traits of the surroundings of Dam Campground is Post Point; there's great hiking along the Rocky Butte Way Trail. And if that's not enough, there's heaps more to do close to Dam Campground. Get drenched paddling on White River, and if you're stopping by from Hood River, you won't be the only one. The great selection of local attractions, and such an incredible array of things to do are sure to keep you coming back many times.
Take a hike on the Swamp Creek Hidden Meadows Trail. This campground has everything. Everybody loves Mount Hood National Forest; the Threemile Trail offers hiking at its best. At Dam Campground during the warm days of summer highs are in the 60's with overnight lows in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's; nighttime lows throughout the winter for Dam Campground tend to be in the 20's.
