Forest Trail 742, without gear. After you've scoped the area, come back and stay. Even on Labor Day Weekend ('06) there were several campsites available in this dispersed camp area. the 70's. Summer nighttime lows sink down to the 50's. Through the winter the highs are usually in the 40's, and nighttime lows all through the wintertime for Bighorn Campground tend to be in the 30's. Scores of folks camp here for the purpose of being near Mount Hood National
| Forest. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors cool things the Central Cascade Range has to offer. If you're popping by Bighorn Campground from Welches, you won't be the only one; the Cool Creek Trail offers hiking at its best. Bighorn Campground sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is July. Hood National Forest is a nice site to stop at on a beautiful day; paddling on Sandy River is so much fun. Man, is there heaps of exciting things to do close to Bighorn Campground. There's great hiking along the Flag Mountain Trail; in the event that you don’t have a problem
getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Zigzag River. You truly shouldn't spend too much time in the city; you've gotta get out occasionally, and Bighorn Campground is a great local campground if you happen to be in Oregon. This campground is a
beautiful place to take a look at. Mt. Hood Ski Bowl is a very popular ski area in close proximity. This is such a fun place for a campground. Bighorn Creek is a wonderful local stream; Bighorn Campground is right by the West Zigzag Mountain Trail.
