Bighorn Campground, Central Cascade Range, Oregon
|
| | Have you been to the Bighorn campground site???While this is a beautiful pack-in, primitive site, it doesn't fit with your description. Before camping, take a hike on Nat. Forest Trail 742, without gear. After you've scoped the area, come back and stay. Even on Labor Day Weekend ('06) there were several campsites available in this dispersed camp area. Says Jim-in-Brightwood
The natural prettiness at this primitive campground is tremendous, and unsurprisingly | |
it could be hard to get to a primitive campground such as Bighorn Campground, but it's worth the effort. Bighorn Campground is incredibly popular with the people of Welches. All the splendid local attractions close at hand and
| | | such a splendid variety of outdoors recreation are good reasons to come. Amenities and facilities are few in primitive campgrounds like this one, and primitive campgrounds like these is a good way to get out in the wilderness. Bighorn Campground is one of the sites to camp here in the Central Cascade Range. Several people stay here in order to be right next door to Mount Hood National Forest.
