Hilltop Campground, Nevada Custom Search   Hilltop Campground camp host's Johnelle and Al are the most professional, kind, intelligent, and caring people that I have the pleasure of meeting.  I arrived at Hilltop at 9:30 am on a Friday morning to take my chance at a first come first serve site.  By 1:30 pm I was preparing my camp at site #25.  I was in contact with the camp host my entire stay (until Sunday at 1 pm).  Both of them took care to make certain that quiet time was enforced (10pm to 6am), the grounds were clean, the bathroom facilities and heated coin operated showers were always clean.      I have plans on returning to Hilltop around the end of August and I will be reserving a site for this visit.  All of the sites had beautiful views and air was so fresh.  Being at 8,000 feet you will need to pace yourself for any walks you may want to plan.  Again I would like to thank the camp host for making my first and not last camping trip to Hilltop a VERY MEMORABLE one. Throughout the summertime months here at Hilltop Campground, high temperatures usually reach the 100's while night lows are mostly in the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are frequently in the 50's while the cold winter nights at Hilltop Campground are in the 20's. There's just no way anyone can get bored here at Hilltop Campground.   Why not take a refreshing hike along the Charleston Peak Trail North Loop, and the vista of scenic Fletcher Peak is brilliant. There's delightful hiking along the Mount Charleston National Recreation Trail, and a journey here wouldn’t be complete without a journey to nearby Floyd Lamb State Park. This is a great campground. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hilltop Campground; Cathedral Rock Trail is a good local trail, and Spring Mountain Ranch State Park is worth a visit. At Hilltop Campground you don’t see much rainfall; throughout the month of February you get the most rain around here while June is regularly the driest month.
