A visit to Desert Creek Campground wouldn’t be complete without a journey to nearby Echo Canyon State Park, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Carson River - East Fork. Around Desert Creek Campground you don’t get a lot of rain; during January this area sees the most snow, and April is when it's the driest.
