Upper La Junta Campground, Sangre De Cristo Mountains, New Mexico

  Policarpio Canyon is a good place to look at; do check out La Cueva Lake, it's a beautiful lake. Upper La Junta Campground is located in an area with loads of fun stuff to do; what a pleasant location for camping it is.
The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always wonderful. Upper La Junta Campground gets very little rainfall; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while February is frequently the driest month.
This campground is so great. You're sure to encounter some nice people from Chacon here, and why not take a little
    spree to Duran Creek while you're here. Summertime highs at Upper La Junta Campground generally tend to be in the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for

Upper La Junta Campground is a very popular campground among the folks from Chacon. The surroundings of this campground have so much stuff to offer. Whitewater paddling is great on Rio Grande, and going for a hike on the West Fork Angostura Trail is always a magnificent adventure.
A visit to New Mexico is not complete without some camping. Upper La Junta Campground is near Morphy Lake State Park which is a picturesque location; you can go for a hike on the North End Trail.

Head up to Sipapu Ski and strap some skis to your feet, and don't leave Upper La Junta Campground without first going for a hike along the Comales Trail. The tremendous variety of local attractions and so many things to do will definitely have you coming back over and over.
So many entertaining things to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, too great to be true. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Pueblo de Taos; there's great hiking along the Divide Trail. Any time is a nice time at Upper La Junta Campground if you fancy the outdoors. When you're here at Upper La Junta Campground it's always fun to pop by Coyote Creek State Park, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Upper La Junta Campground; Osha Trail is a wonderful local trail. As if Upper La Junta Campground wasn't enough, you can also go whitewater paddling, swimming, hiking, and fishing, so you won’t run out of things to do.
