When you go for a weekend of camping at a primitive campground such as Trout Lakes Campground you're in fact camping. Needless to say conveniences are few in a primitive campground like this; this primitive campground is located in a very stunning scene. New Mexico is a great site for outdoors folks.
It's unhealthy to be inside all the time; you need to get out occasionally, and Trout Lakes Campground in New Mexico is a great selection.
The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always pretty. There are of course restrooms at this campground, and getting to a primitive campground such as Trout Lakes Campground can be a tad hard,
 
    but it's well worth it.
All the nice local attractions in close proximity and such a nice variety of outdoors recreation are sure to keep you coming back time and again.
Trout Lakes Campground is situated in a region with
 lots of entertaining things to do, and when you're here you're always having a great time. There's such a great deal of things to do at Trout Lakes Campground including swimming, fishing, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t get bored. A type I-III, 9-mile-long whitewater run can be found on close by Rio de los Brazos, the Corkins Lodge to confluence with Rio Chama sector. If you don’t want to risk getting dripping wet this run of Rio de los Brazos is almost certainly not for you. Unsurprisingly, whitewater rafting and kayaking is cool but dangerous; check the situation in advance of a trip. A visit to Trout Lakes Campground wouldn’t be complete without a trip to nearby Heron Lake State  
Park, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Espanola here. You absolutely have to go for the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Don't leave Trout Lakes Campground without popping by Carson National Forest.
