Lakes? Sure, Deer Lake is in the vicinity. All year is a pleasant time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you adore the outdoors. On a perfect day at Rio Puerco Campground you can take a hike along the Redonda Trail, and the snow is good at Pajarito Mountain. This is a great campground. Going for a hike on the Perchas Trail is always a nice adventure. Don't leave Rio Puerco Campground without visiting Fenton Lake State Park, and you can go for a hike on the Palomas Trail.
