Lower Hondo Campground, Sangre De Cristo Mountains, New Mexico   Some activities here at Lower Hondo Campground are whitewater paddling, fishing, hiking, and swimming, so you won’t get bored. There's whitewater on Rio Grande for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and a tour to Cimarron Canyon State Park revitalizes the soul.   All through the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 80's at Lower Hondo Campground. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Lower Hondo Campground temperatures fall to the 0's.
