Lower Hondo Campground, Sangre De Cristo Mountains, New Mexico

  Some activities here at Lower Hondo Campground are whitewater paddling, fishing, hiking, and swimming, so you won’t get bored. It is very arid here at Lower Hondo Campground ordinarily; most of the rain falls throughout August; January on the other hand is the driest. You can run the rapids of Rio Grande in close proximity to Lower Hondo Campground, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Lower Hondo Campground; Kit Carson Trail is a delightful local trail. The snow is glorious at Taos, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for
    you then, we recommend Red River.
That right there is a lot of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Sangre De Cristo Mountains has it all. Not far from Lower Hondo Campground, you'll find Cow Lake which is a picturesque lake, and wonderful hiking is available along the
Twining Blue Lake Trail. Lower Hondo Campground is one of the spots to camp here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.
So much exciting stuff to do here at Lower Hondo Campground, too glorious to be true. Go for a hike on the Simpson Memorial Trail, and you get a wonderful sight of Cuchillo del Medio from here. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There's whitewater on Rio Grande for all you adrenaline rush seekers, and a tour to Cimarron Canyon State Park revitalizes the soul.
 
All through the warmest time of the year, highs generally are in the 80's at Lower Hondo Campground. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and during the dark hours in the winter at Lower Hondo Campground temperatures fall to the 0's.
Camping out positively is a fun thing to do, and Lower Hondo Campground, New Mexico is a pleasant site for getting out.
So many local attractions and so many things to do will make you glad you came. This campground is so delightful. If you're dropping by Lower Hondo Campground from Valdez, you won't be the only one; going for a hike on the Number 3 Lift Trail is always a great adventure. Lower Hondo Campground is a popular spot with the residents of Valdez. It's just not possible to run out of amusing things to do in the vicinity of Lower Hondo Campground; it is a very pleasant campground.
Don't leave Lower Hondo Campground without first going for a hike along the Devisadero Peak Loop Trail.
