This campground is a wonderful place to explore. Las Petacas Campground is not far at all from Taos Ski Valley, and if you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Red River. There's no way to get bored in New Mexico if you adore the outdoors.

Go for a hike on the Simpson Memorial Trail, and you beyond doubt have to stop by Coyote Creek State Park if you're here.
There's such a vast number of things to do at Las Petacas Campground including fishing, swimming, hiking, and whitewater paddling, so almost certainly you
want to stay a while. Around Las Petacas Campground you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August, and January meanwhile is the driest month.
And that's not all you can do here at Las Petacas Campground. Las Petacas Campground is in the vicinity
of Cimarron Canyon State Park which is a picturesque site, and the North End Trail offers hiking at its best. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Las Petacas Campground; the night is fairly colder of course, usually in the 40's. Throughout the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and overnight lows at Las Petacas Campground through the wintertime commonly plunge into the 0's.
