| Junta Campground is trouble-free, and paddling on Rio Grande is so much fun. Not much rainfall falls here at La Junta Campground; August is the month that gets the most rain, and January is when it's the driest. The wonderful people of San Cristobal like to hang out nearby, and if you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Rio Grande.

Summer brings highs in the 80's to La Junta Campground, and the nighttime is rather chillier of course, frequently in the
40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at La Junta Campground. So many local attractions and such a nice variety of outdoors recreation are perfect motives to come. If you like the outdoors, you won’t be disenchanted; there's whitewater paddling, and hiking, so you won’t run out of things to do.
