This part of New Mexico has a delightful deal of outdoors activities offered. If the weather is perfect here at La Junta Campground, you can go for a hike along the Number 3 Lift Trail, and don't forget to take a great little tour to Red River.
All the great local attractions close by and all the outdoors recreation will make you pleased you came. Life's too short to enjoy all the amusing
    stuff in close proximity to La Junta Campground. The wonderful folks of San Cristobal like to hang out nearby, and there is a fine hiking trail nearby called the Simpson Memorial Trail.
Some activities here at La Junta Campground are hiking, and whitewater paddling, so you
won’t run out of things to do. For the period of the months of summer here at La Junta Campground, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 40's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows through the winter for La Junta Campground tend to be in the 0's.
This campground is so scenic. On a great day at La Junta Campground you can take a hike along the Devisadero Peak Loop Trail, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater
 
paddling on Rio Grande. Ok, you've been cooped up too long, and La Junta Campground in New Mexico is a really delightful location to spend some time. La Junta Campground is a top choice campground with the folks from San Cristobal.
La Junta Campground gets very little rain; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain while January is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Now, you may feel that's a lot but there's even more fun stuff to do here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. You can never get enough of the nice skiing at Taos, and a great location for whitewater paddling is Red River. It's out of the question to run out of fun stuff to do in close proximity to La Junta Campground; when you have spent some time here you will feel like a new person.
Going for a hike on the Twining Blue Lake Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Rio Grande.
