  Many people camp here in order to be close to Bandelier National Monument. A splendid place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Juniper Campground is Rio Santa Cruz, and do take a hike on the Bland Frijoles Trail. This is a fine campground. The vistas at Bandelier National Monument will blow your mind, and the Frijoles Stone Lions Trail offers hiking at its best. So many entertaining things right next door to Juniper Campground, and to be here is always fun.
This segment of New Mexico is always a joy to check out during camping season. Santa
    Fe National Forest is worth checking out if you're at Juniper Campground; there's perfect hiking along the Cochiti Frijoles Trail.
That right there is heaps already, but it goes on; Juniper Campground has it all. Los Alamos Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could visit; why
not take a refreshing hike along the Capulin Canyon Trail. So many enjoyable things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too splendid to be true. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Rio Grande, and hiking along the Alamo Springs Trail is wonderful fun. If you're feeling down from spending too much time indoors, Don't worry; Juniper Campground, New Mexico is a magnificent location for getting out.
This campground is so fine. If you haven’t been to Santa Fe National Historic Trail, you should schedule
 
some time for it since you're here, and the skiing at Pajarito Mountain is glorious.
Around Juniper Campground you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is February. You get a tremendous panorama of Frijoles Mesa from Juniper Campground.
Outdoors recreation is bountiful, some of the enjoyable stuff you can do is hiking, fishing, whitewater paddling, and swimming, so running out of fun stuff to do won’t happen. Such a great selection of attractions and the great variety of outdoors recreation are guaranteed to keep you coming back time and again. Juniper Campground is an old favorite with the people from Los Alamos.
The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always picturesque. All year is a magnificent time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains if you like the outdoors. There are plenty of people from Los Alamos here at Juniper Campground, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Rio Chama. At Juniper Campground during the warm days of summer highs are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures fall down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Juniper Campground overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
