A splendid place for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Juniper Campground is Rio Santa Cruz, and do take a hike on the Bland Frijoles Trail. This is a fine campground. The vistas at Bandelier National Monument will blow your mind, and the Frijoles Stone Lions Trail offers hiking at its best. Fe National Forest is worth checking out if you're at Juniper Campground; there's perfect hiking along the Cochiti Frijoles Trail. That right there is heaps already, but it goes on; Juniper Campground has it all. Los Alamos Reservoir is a nearby lake that you could visit; why
| not take a refreshing hike along the Capulin Canyon Trail. So many enjoyable things to do here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, too splendid to be true. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Rio Grande, and hiking along the Alamo Springs Trail is wonderful fun. some time for it since you're here, and the skiing at Pajarito Mountain is glorious. Around Juniper Campground you don’t get a lot of precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest month of the year is February. You get a tremendous panorama of Frijoles

down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while Juniper Campground overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 10's.
