There's no way someone can get bored here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. There are nice locations to explore along the Simpson Memorial Trail, and an afternoon playing golf at Red Eagle Golf Course is always a pleasure. Fawn Lakes Campground is a location that is reasonably dry mostly; August is the month that gets the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. The Twining Blue Lake Trail is a brilliant hiking trail in the vicinity of Fawn Lakes Campground; whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Rio Grande.
