Just can't get enough of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Don't leave Elephant Rock Campground without visiting Cimarron Canyon State Park, and you can have a good hiking adventure along the Lost Lake Trail. Elephant Rock Campground is a very popular campground among the folks from Cerro.
Be careful coming to Elephant Rock Campground, you might not ever want to return back home again. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Red River; hiking along the Twining Blue Lake Trail is magnificent fun. Golf can be played at Red Eagle Golf Course, and there are other spots here than Elephant Rock Campground, for example Pioneer Lake.
If you want a splendid time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Elephant Rock Campground. Outdoors folks generally fancy this segment of New Mexico. Elephant Rock Campground is pretty waterless ordinarily; during the month of August you get the most rain around here, and the driest month is February.
