| | This camp ground is one of the tremendous sites to camp here in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. This is a delightful vicinity for folks who like lakes. Fawn Lakes is a lake close at hand; paddling on Red River is so much fun. Such a great choice of attractions and the nearby outdoors recreation are tremendous causes to come. It is very dry here at Elephant Rock Campground ordinarily; throughout August this area sees the most rain, and February is the month with the least moisture. There's such a large number of things to do at Elephant Rock Campground including fishing, hiking, swimming, playing golf, and whitewater paddling, so probably you want to stay for a while. Rio Grande has a brilliant whitewater paddling spot close by, and you can never get enough of the good skiing at Red River.
