This part of Rio Chama is suggested for novice whitewater paddlers. Whitewater boating may become perilous, so check the situation   prior to departure. El Vado Lake State Park is a delightful site to stretch your legs a bit; Pajarito Mountain is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. That right there is a lot of amusing things already but it goes on, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has it all.
