Duran Canyon Campground is a very popular old favorite campground among the residents of Chacon. This campground is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Rio Grande, and popping by Morphy Lake State Park is a delightful thing to do.

West Fork Angostura Trail, and Duran Canyon Campground is not far at all from Chacon. A tremendous vista of stunning La Cueva Peak is available from Duran Canyon Campground, and the Divide Trail offers hiking at its best.

Hiking is a popular thing to do around Duran Canyon Campground; North End Trail is a great local trail, and why not head up to Sipapu and strap some skis to your feet.
