Cherry Creek Campground is situated in the Black Range. A visit to Gila National Forest when you're here at Cherry Creek Campground is a great idea, and the Lookout Trail offers hiking at its best.
Cherry Creek Campground is a location
    that is quite arid usually; during the month of July you get the most rain around here, and April on the other hand is the driest. Cherry Creek Campground is an old favorite with folks of Gila.
All through the months of summer highs here at Cherry Creek Campground get into
the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 50's while Cherry Creek Campground overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's. This is such a lovely campground. Cherry Creek Campground is not far at all from Gila, and there are some nice whitewater spots on Gila River. While visiting this area in New Mexico it's a good idea to go for a camping trip too.
Yeah, come up here to the Black Range for a good time. There's great hiking along the
 
Signal Peak Trail; the vistas at Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument will blow your mind.
You get a perfect view of T X Mountain from Cherry Creek Campground; the Pinos Altos Range towers over Cherry Creek Campground. Be careful coming to the Black Range, you might not ever want to go home again. A wonderful location like City of Rocks State Park close to Cherry Creek Campground is too delightful to leave out, and do take a hike on the Black Peak Trail. It's impossible to run out of entertaining things to do near Cherry Creek Campground; camping is such a fun thing to do, and this is a good spot to do that.
This campground is always a pleasure. Why not visit close by Mill Creek while you're here at Cherry Creek Campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Sawmill Wagon Road Trail. Some folks stay here for the purpose of being near Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument. Such a good choice of attractions and the good variety of outdoors recreation will certainly have you coming back over and over.
