Cable Cove Campground, Great Smoky Mountains, North Carolina

| | Great campground. Not too big (20 sites?), rarely full. Large tent pads, fire rings with grill tops, a separate charcoal grill, picnic tables, and sometimes 2 lantern posts are set on spacious lots set far off the road with most parking areas big enough to accomidate large RV's. Access to campground and boat ramp is paved the whole way. Water and a primative flush toilet provided. Camping close to the entrance may include noises from the pumphouse at night. Only a quarter mile from boat ramp on one of the most beautiful sections of Lake Fontana. Great |

canoe-camping. The interpretive trail is probably a little over a mile long. Extensive hiking, mountain biking, and kayaking close by. Closest store is at Fontana Village, about 8 mi. away, and if they're closed, I think that the closest beer is some 30 mi. away in Bryson City.

Cable Cove Campground is positioned in a vicinity with lots of cool stuff to do; being here is tremendous fun any time. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Cable Cove Campground get into the 80's; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. You get a wonderful vista of Perry Knob from Cable Cove Campground; you can have a magnificent
hiking adventure along the Anthony Creek Trail. There's more to do right next door to Cable Cove Campground other than just hanging out such as hiking, and whitewater paddling, so you won’t get bored.
A large amount of rainfall falls at Cable Cove Campground; the month with
most of the rain is March; October is the month with the least moisture. Pack your camping stuff and hit the road; Cable Cove Campground, North Carolina is a tremendous site for getting out. The best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Ober Gatlinburg, and don’t
forget to have a look at Williams Cove while you're here at Cable Cove Campground.

positively ought to stop by Fort Loudoun State Park while you're here at Cable Cove Campground.
