I'm not sure if the last poster was staying at Black Mtn. Campground in NC with the word primitive used as many times as they did. If you can walk 100ft and buy a 10lb bag of ice and plug in your cellphone in the heated bath house, it aint primitive. Says Joe Ladd

At an elevation of 3,020 feet is where Black Mountain Campground is located. Here there are 43 campsites available. Fire rings with cooking grill and a table are offered at each site.

Facilities include flush toilets, drinking water, trash can, showers, and sewage disposal (1 mile away). Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash. Black Mountain Campground opens mid April thru October.

Me and my family have
camped here only 2 times and we LOVE IT! This will be our camping place forever. I had not found a camp ground as wonderful as this one. If you have not camped here you are missing out. Says Pamela

This is a great campground. I live locally and have been staying here for over twenty years. It's a great place to get close to nature and your own family!
Says Crystal

This is a primitive campground which unsurprisingly means that there are not

too many facilities. This primitive campground is to be found in an unbelievably wonderful site. Getting to this primitive campground may be rather difficult, but it's well worth it. At this primitive campground you could get a more
excellent wilderness experience than you would get at a more civilized campground. The splendid choice of local attractions, and such a great deal of things to do will positively have you coming back time and again. North Carolina is a wonderful place for campers.
Some people camp here in order to be in the neighborhood of Mount Mitchell State Park. Black Mountain Campground is a very popular campground with people in Burnsville.
